This is my TWELfTH  year in education!  That is just CrAzY to me!  I've taught third, first, and fourth grades, and I've been in the RES library since January of 2013.  I love that this job allows me to get to know ALL of our students a little bit, and that every day bring something different.  I'm looking forward to the 2017-2018 school year and can't wait to see what it holds!  :-)

I have lived in Florida all of my life, and I have no plans to leave anytime soon!  I grew up in Marianna, attending all of the local schools (including Chipola) before moving to Gainesville to attend the University of Florida.  I taught at Patronis Elementary in Panama City Beach for three years, then I decided to come back home to be closer to my family.  You know what they say - there's no place like home!  As far as my hobbies are concerned, I am, of course, an avid reader.  I read all kinds of books, including children's books, and my Kindle is probably my most prized possession!  I also have a passion for music - I love to sing along with the radio (I even sing along with commercials and jingles!), and there is nothing better than some good ol' classic rock-and-roll!   I really enjoy running, working out, and being outdoors as much as possible...especially at the beach or floating in a pool!  I've recently rekindled a love for fishing and have even been hunting a little, thanks to my wonderful husband, Steve!  My step-son, Tayler, is in 7th Grade at MMS this year.  I also have a toddler, Jameson, and he is keeping me busy, tired, and on my toes!  :-)

I have competed in many different 5Ks (and even won a few!), have completed a half-marathon (which I don't think I'll ever do again), and I finished a really cool triathlon that was a run/swim/paddle combination - I got to paddle on a surfboard instead of riding a bike!   I've also come to enjoy those adventure races, and have done Warrior Dash and Hero Rush, both of which I LOVED!  Tough Mudder is next on my agenda, so we'll see how that goes!

I love animals, especially dogs, and am quite the sap when it comes to strays...I'm not sure I can count how many animals I've had in my short 34 years of life!   Right now, my husband Steve, step-son Tayler, baby Jameson, and I have a really big, really loveable 60-pound lap dog named Lucy.  She's nothing but a big baby, and one of her nicknames is "Ten Lick" because she loves to give us sugar!  In addition, I am a HUGE football fan, and, believe it or not, I LOVE both the Florida Gators and the Florida State Seminoles!  My family and friends refer to me as a Semi-Gator.  My dad is a Seminole, my mom is a Gator, I have a master's degree from UF!  I view it as a win-win situation.  After saying all of that, please know that I am looking forward to getting to know my new students and having another great year at Riverside!
